RING JEWELLERY
A finger ring is usually a type of ornamental jewellery worn around a finger. Finger rings come in many shapes and sizes and materials as with classical gold rings and silver rings. In more recent times other alloys have become popular as with stainless steel and titanium rings.
Rings are commonly worn by both males and females, it is the most common current meaning of the word ring. Other types of metal bands worn as ornaments are also becoming popular. Rings are worn by both men and women on any finger including the thumb and in any quantity.
Rings can be made of metal, plastic, wood, bone, glass, gemstone and other materials. Rings like gold rings and silver rings are often set with a "stone", which is often a precious or semi-precious gemstone such as ruby, sapphire or emerald.
